I just read today that the average weight gain over the holiday season is eight to 10 pounds.
It's not just those two huge holiday meals that'll do us in.
It's the two big meals PLUS potlucks, holiday lunches with the co-workers, fast food while we're out shopping, cookies, candy, and perhaps worst of all, the goodies brought into the office by the (usually skinny) co-workers to "share" with the rest of us.
This is a hard time to try to lose weight. However, it's not quite so bad if you just try to maintain.
As the experts say, if you eat right 80% of the time, the other 20% won't be so bad...

The Two Month Eating Season Begins!
Oh, yes, here we are again.
The day after Halloween begins the two month eating season, which culminates in a feast on New Years Day.
Pumpkin, apple, cherry, sweet potato pies.
Mashed potatoes and gravy.
Massive amounts of roast turkey (actually, I smoke mine) and/or ham.
Potlucks at work, church, neighbors, family.
Candy and cakes and sweets everywhere.
Eggnog and mudslides and alcohol.
Honestly, I'm not trying to lose weight during this time.
I just want to focus on maintaining where I am and emphasize the positive things in my life.
There's plenty of time during the dark gloomy days of January to get that inner donkey back on the right path to good health and smaller dress sizes.
The two month eating season has begun.
Want a piece of cake?
